Separation of Tellurium and Polonium from Liquid Media

Tellurium forms a limited number of compounds. Polonium occurs in uranium and thorium minerals as a product of radioactive decay.

Tellurium

Tellurium forms a limited number of compounds, most of which are halide complexes. The predominant ionic form of tellurium is telluric (VI) acid (H6O6Te) which is an anion. As an anion, it is best removed from solutions with a strong base anion exchanger like AmberSep™ 21K XLT Resin or  AmberLite™ HPR9200 Cl  Resin.

Polonium

Polonium occurs in uranium and thorium minerals as a product of radioactive decay. It is quite rare and not of general commercial interest as an ion.
