The Utilities category consists of activities related to power generation (electrical, nuclear, wind, water) and maintenance, operations, upkeep and repair. Workers can face particulate, biological, chemical, and flame hazards in these situations. Potential exposure to arc flashes (which include arc flash burn and blast hazards),electric shock, falls, and thermal burn hazards that can cause injury and death.
Appropriate FR clothing, in accordance to a Job Hazard Assessment, would be needed to protect against these hazards.
