FAQ

Can DuPont™ Tyvek® CommercialWrap® be used as an intervening layer with DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+™? DuPont™ Tyvek® CommercialWrap® products can be used as an intervening layer over DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+™ with stucco façade. An intervening layer of Tyvek® building wrap can be installed after Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+™ has cured for 24 hours. What’s the difference between DuPont™ Tyvek® CommercialWrap® D and DuPont™ Tyvek® DrainWrap™? Each of the WRBs help with drainage, with both having a 98% or greater drainage efficiency per ASTM E2273. The major difference between the two WRBs is the UV exposure. Tyvek® CommercialWrap® D can be left exposed for 9 months while Tyvek® DrainWrap™ has a 4-month UV exposure. These UV exposure limits were designed for the products applications. CommercialWrap® D is typically used on commercial projects while DrainWrap™ is used on residential projects. For additional information regarding application and use refer to the installation guidelines for the applicable project type. Can DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing and Joint Compound+ or DuPont™ Sealant for Tyvek® Fluid Applied System be applied to the exterior sheathing when Tyvek® CommercialWrap® is installed as the air and water barrier? Yes, when the architect-of-record, specifier, and/or building envelope consultant requires the exterior sheathing seam be treated prior to the installation for DuPont™ Tyvek® CommercialWrap® products, DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing and Joint Compound+ or DuPont™ Sealant for Tyvek® Fluid Applied System may be used. The professional installer must allow the Fluid Applied products to cure for a minimum of 48 hours prior to installing the Tyvek® CommercialWrap™ products.
