DuPont™ Thermax™ Basic NH Insulation

Non-Halogenated (NH), High-Performance, Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polyiso Foam Insulation

<br /><b>DuPont™ Thermax™ Basic NH Polyisocyanurate Insulation</b> is a non-structural, rigid board insulation consisting of a glass-fiber-infused, closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam core laminated between 1.0 mil smooth reflective aluminum facers on both sides. As a result, <b>Thermax™ Basic NH Insulation</b> offers high, long term R-value providing continuous, durable insulation within the building envelope. <br /><br /> <b>Thermax™ Basic NH Insulation</b> is engineered to achieve a Class A fire rating, making it suitable for a variety of concealed and exposed applications. It meets the stringent requirements of a flame-spread index of 25 or less and a smoke-developed index of 450 or less. Additionally, it features NFPA 285 tested assemblies, approved for use in Exterior Walls of Types I, II, III, and IV construction, in accordance with Section 2603.5 of the International Building Code.

FAQ

How long can the DuPont™ Thermax™ Brand Insulation Basic NH be left exposed to UV? 6 months Can I use DuPont™ Thermax™ Brand Insulation NH on my walls and ceilings?  Yes, where UL 1715 is accepted for compliance or specification.

Comprehensive UL and FM approvals including NFPA 286 for Walls only or Ceilings only up to 3”. Class-A fire rating: can be left exposed to the interior without a thermal barrier.

Is DuPont™ Thermax™ Brand Insulation Basic NH NFPA 285 evaluated? NFPA 285 approval up to 3” behind non-combustible veneers and approval up to 2” behind combustible veneers. Can DuPont™ Thermax™ Brand Insulation be left exposed to the building interior? Thermax™ Brand Insulation products can be left exposed to the building interior (i.e., without a thermal barrier such as 1/2 inch gypsum wallboard) in specific non-rated ceiling assemblies or non-rated construction in commercial, industrial and agricultural buildings. Thermax™ Brand Insulation products cannot be left exposed to exterior conditions.

The use of Thermax™ Brand Insulation exposed to the building interior is documented with a Code Compliance Research Report (CCRR-0440).

NOTE: Thermax™ cannot be used as a duct work or plenum insulation- it does not meet the IBC /IMC for flame spread of 25 or less and smoke developed of 50 or less
