DuPont™ StraightFlash™
Protection for Straight Jambs and Heads of Windows and Doors
DuPont™ StraightFlash™ is an innovative, single-sided, self-adhered flashing solution that bridges the gap between the rough opening and building envelope to protect against water intrusion around heads and jambs of rectangular doors, windows and other gaps. By sealing vulnerable areas around openings, DuPont™ StraightFlash™ can help improve the durability and energy efficiency of both homes and commercial structures.

DuPont™ StraightFlash™ flashing combines a DuPont™ Tyvek® topsheet with a 100% butyl-based adhesive layer, merging the strength, durability and water resistance of Tyvek® material with the convenience and flexibility of a self-adhered flashing. The result: premium door and window flashing protection that helps keeps rain out and integrates seamlessly with other DuPont™ air and water barriers in a complete building envelope system.

Features & Benefits
Application and Service Temperature
- Withstands up to 9 months (270 days) of UV exposure.
- Can be installed at external temperatures as low as 25 °F (-4 °C) if the surface is clean and free from frost and ice.
High Performance Durability
- Helps prevents water intrusion by stopping potential water damage – from rot and corrosion to mold – before it starts, resulting in a more durable wall assembly.
- Preserves the installed R-Value of insulation, making buildings more energy efficient by helping to prevent air and water leakage.
- Constructed with a tear-resistant, micro-creped DuPont™ Tyvek® top-sheet and specially designed, quick-release, scored release liner.
- 100% butyl sealant provides excellent adhesion to most common building materials.
- Forgiving initial tack provides ability to correct installation mistakes.
- Does not contain asphaltic / bitumen adhesive materials which many window manufacturers prohibit due to adverse material reactions.
- Meets AAMA 711, Voluntary Specification for Self-Adhered Flashing Used for Installation of Exterior Wall Fenestration Products.

FAQ
Can DuPont™ StraightFlash™ be used in lieu of DuPont™ Flashing Tape? Yes, StraightFlash™ can be used everywhere DuPont™ Flashing Tape specified in installation literature and/or CAD details, but DuPont™ Flashing Tape cannot replace StraightFlash™ in all applications. Please refer to the applicable DuPont Installation Guideline for more information. Are there any special considerations when DuPont™ StraightFlash™ is used on the same wall where DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+™ is to be sprayed? DuPont™ StraightFlash™ has clean edges and when used for window and/or corner treatment, the edges may need additional attention when DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+™ is spray applied. When spraying, the outer edges (clean edges) should be pretreated with DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing and Joint Compound+ and tapered to the wall substrate for smooth transitions free of pinholes and voids. Refer to the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB+ and DuPont Flashing Products Installation Guidelines for additional information. Why does DuPont require DuPont™ StraightFlash™ installation along the sill of the rough opening if the installing professional intends to use the Flashing and Joint Compound+ to protect the rough opening for a non-flanged or storefront window? The application of StraightFlash™ along the primed sill of the rough opening prior to the installation of the Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing and Joint Compound+ is to provide additional water infiltration resistance and protection when self-tapping screws are utilized to secure large non-flanged and storefront windows.
