DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71S Chromatography Resin
DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71 chromatography resins are macroporous polymeric resins for reversed phase HPLC. These crosslinked aliphatic acrylic ester resins have a mean pore diameter of 250 Å as measured by N2 BET and are ideally suited for applications that need a slightly more hydrophilic resin. These resins are used in applications such as peptides, oligonucleotides, small molecule drugs, and plant extracts (e.g., polyphenolics, flavonoids, and anthocyanins). With high mechanical robustness and chemical resistance, these resins are excellent alternatives to reverse phase silica. AmberChrom™ CG71S is supplied in a slurry of 50% resin by volume in an 80/20 (v/v) mixture of water and ethanol.
Dry grade (DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71SD) is available upon request. There are three product grades in the series:
• DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71S: The smallest of the CG71 resins, this product has a particle size range of 35 µm. This is ideal for applications that need high resolution and can handle the higher pressure drop of the smaller particle size. See Product Data Sheet for details.
• DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71M: The mid-size range product with a mean particle diameter of 75 µm, DuPont recommends this grade as the starting point for most applications as it balances high resolution with modest pressure drop. See Product Data Sheet for details.
• DuPont™ AmberChrom™ CG71C: This product has the largest diameter in the CG71 series, with a mean particle size of ~120 µm. Customers may turn to AmberChrom™ CG71C when their processes cannot tolerate the pressures of CG71M. See Product Data Sheet for details.
Uses
- Capture, separation, and purification of peptides
- Chromatographic purification of oligonucleotides and oligonucleosides
- Oligonucleotide cartridge desalting
- Purification of small molecule drugs and plant or animal extracts
Advantages
- Chemical robustness to standard reversed-phase solvents
- Stable within a very broad pH range (up to pH 14), and easily cleaned in place (CIP) with most organic solvents and dilute acids and bases, providing the potential for long resin lifetime
- Suitable for high-resolution, high-pressure liquid chromatography up to 5 bar
