Last week, twenty undergraduate and doctoral students from the University of Rovira i Virgili (URV) were welcomed to DuPont Water Solution’s Global Water Technology Center in Tarragona, Spain.

The students from the university’s campus in Tarragona were given a tour to the facility, during which they learned about our technologies and the validation processes used for a range of different products to reduce the cost of water and wastewater treatment.

“It was a pleasure to meet with these young people and show how DuPont is continuing to push the boundaries of water technology, helping to improve global access to clean water and sanitation, while reducing the environmental footprint of water treatment facilities,“ said Verónica Gómez, Site Leader and R&D Manager, Tarragona. “By providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and encouraging conversation with our water technology experts, we are helping to demonstrate the value of STEAM and inspire the next generation. All of the students were intrigued to learn about our world-class research and application development facility, frequently asking insightful questions about the essential work undertaken by our team.”

The students’ visit was facilitated by #HubExperimenta, a STEAM educational initiative, in collaboration with the Martí-Franqués COFUND programme, a doctoral scholarship program offering interdisciplinary training and industrial mentoring. DuPont is a key sponsor of #HubExperimenta, working with other members of the academic and business communities to develop the next generation of scientists and engineers by encouraging young people to explore STEAM careers.
